"when I first entered south fresh out of middle school, I expected it too be so scary and overwhelming because of the reputation. But when I first entered those double doors, the teachers were so involved in the students success and willing to go all out for whatever we needed. That was my freshman year, since then we got some these younger teachers that are kind of teaching not for the students but a sense of fulfillment in themselves. But the older teacher, are the ones who been through it all and understand what is going to benefit us to bring us to the next step in our education. What I would like to see changed is the younger teachers to stop having pride in themselves and become more involved in the students"

"Some things that i really liked about south mountain high school is all the different programs and magnets that the school has to offer. They go from art to learning how to fly planes, and cooking. I was also in construction and wood which is another magnet that teaches how to basically use wood and build things and even make a house! also with South I love our staff from the ones in the lunch room all the the way to the class room. Many teachers show kindness and you can really see that they want us to succeed and be successful in life. I am happy that I attend a school where the teachers know were we come from and understand that it may be hard to make it out but it is possible just have to work hard and stay focused thanks Ms Wildermuth, I am happy to say that I have been here all four years and will always be a jaguar."

"South provides a safe and friendly environment. There are many different clubs and activities that you can participate in and meet a lot of new friends. There are plenty opportunities to explore that will help you for life after high school. The five magnet programs are a great start. I am currently in the performing arts magnet. Over the past three years my dance family has become my real family. My dance teachers have become my best mentors."

"I love the environment provided by the students and faculty. The magnets provided for the students provide an environment that allow students to flourish and maximize as much as possible in the selected magnet. Not only does it provide great magnets, but certain teachers and administrators are wonderful and truly care for their students. The only thing that can truly improve is the lunch provided for the students along with improving school spirit."

"The school and most of the people are really nice. If you get honors classes most teachers show a big interest in your future, however there are teachers who do not care about your success. There are a lot of different people here who give you a different perspective. The school is safe and there is nothing to worry. The losing records in some sports have brought the school culture down. The administration is pretty good and most of the staff are too, except the librarians and on of the staff from the bookstore."
