"I did some research on this school and found out that the charter has been revoked following this school year. This school has not made any academic improvment past couple of years. Do your research before sending your kid here"

"I opened our first school after the tragedies of 9/11 because I felt that as long as there is one uneducated, unhappy person in the world, we are all at risk. I feel that teachers and children need to be supported to be all they can be. Teachers are the most important people on the planet. All children want to be a success and they want to learn but schools sometimes kill the spirit of kids and teachers. It is time to have great community-led K-12 schools that grow wonderful humans, full of hope, dreams and dedication as well as innovative, high academics. We hope you will become involved with our movement as we continually learn how to be better able to serve children and communities."

"I love this school and its teachers and staff. My daughter has grown so much this year. I wish I had known about it last school year. Mrs. Hernandez is the 1st and 2nd grade teacher, she is great. I am always amazed by the things my child tells me she learned in school. Starshine doesn't just teach them book stuff they help them to become confident and caring as well."

"Starshine has a unique mission for our very unique students and that is to teach the whole child. We integrate music, art, gardening, and technology into our everyday core curriculum. We recognize that all students don't perform well with traditional testing methods and provide opportunities for our students to demonstrate learning in ways that maximize their strengths while working to improve their deficits. I am proud to work for an organization that is committed to teaching the whole child. Come check us out! :-)"
