"This is our second year, so far this year has been great. Last year was horrible. My daughter had a horrible time with this abusive teacher Mrs. Harland. She teaches the first grade. She screams at her students, loves using put downs. I have cought her screaming at the top of her lungs to a student because that student brought homework that was wet, and had a note from the parent stating it was the mom who had dropped some oil or perfume on it and to please excuse her. Well she did'nt. She crumpled up the note from the parent and threw it in the garbage in front of the little girl and started screaming that she "doesnt take garbage in her class" My daughter was terrefied of this teacher. She wouldn't stay in her class. I asked the teacher to help me convince her to go in and Mrs. Harland just looked down on me with disgust and said there's nothing I can do, you're interrupting my class and shut the door in my face. Stuff like this went on the whole year. I had to go every day and stay there. That teacher wouldn't let the students go to the bathroom. Several kids peed on themselves and received a yelling with it. She still teaches there. They need to fire this woman."

"I don't know what is wrong with this school,or should I say some of the staff members. For some reason there is always a child urinating on themselves in class whether it be a kindergartner ,first grade or even fifth grader. My son who has never had an accident in his pants after the age of 2yr old .He ends up having two in one year because his teacher didnt not allow him to use the restroom(keep in mind restroom was less then 5 feet from his desk) this happen his first grade year. Now he is in the second and that teacher has the same problem not allowing the or punish the student by taking away there recess or changing the card .As if to say it"s a bad thing, endless then 3 months FIVE students in my son class had accidents.I have got into with the Principal ,vice principal and teacher herself about this. They claim if they let one child go then all want to go .I say who cares let them would you rather the be teased ,embarrassed of using the bathroom on themselves .I have talk-in to several parents all in different class and still nothing has change .So I will go to the district if it doesn't STOP,but we as parents need to protect our children there are there to learn not be ashamed"

"I like Stoneman Elementary School very much. I absolutely loved my son's kindergarten teachers Mrs. Marshall and Mrs. Watkins. But, now that my son is in first grade, I do not like his teacher Mrs. Harland. I feel she has no compassion for first grade level. She is like drill sargent and from day one, she has had 'nothing' nice to say about my son's academics, and she is always sending home rude comments on his homework. I have never heard her say one positive comment about my son during parent/teacher conference. I don't mind if I have to retain my son back in first grade, especiallty if it is going to help him improve, but I definitely do NOT want Mrs. Harland as his teacher again!"

"I have had a number of my children attend this school and cannot speak highly enough of one particular teacher - Mrs. Barton. She taught my fifth grade daughter and later, two of my children in third grade. I was really disappointed to find out she transferred to first grade this year. Outstanding job!"

"My daughter has attended Stoneman since 3rd grade and is in her last year there. Her 4th and 5th grade years have been stellar due in part to Mrs. Hamlin and Mr. Golden. Also Ms. Mukerjee 9Princ.) and Ms. Weiss (asst pricp.) are an excellent asset to the school. Parental involvement is outstanding. Keep up th egreat work."
