"This is in response to the April 2005 letter about bullying. Please put a note in the PTA mailbox if you wish of ANY future problems with the bullying of your child at Elroy. I am on the Safety Awareness committee and will bring it to attention at our next meeting. If there is another problem and our committee is made aware of the situation I promise it will be taken care of correctly. Thank you."

"There is an endemic attitude at this school that bullying and threatening other children is okay, and that the victim is the one to blame. When my son and I reported to his first grade teacher that he had been chased down on the playground by a group of third graders her response was to turn to him and say 'You must have done something to make them do that.' When I reported to the principal that another student threatened to kill my son I was told 'there's nothing I can do about it.'"
