"I had a child in that school for 19 years and love the Montessori concept, the nurturing and caring, and the sense of community within the school!"

"There are too many children who disrupt the classroom. Teachers are too busy dealing with kids social problems. It seems almost impossible to incorporate the Montessori method in the school."

"The Homewood Montessori is a wonderful school with an incredible staff of teachers. The Montessori teaching method prepares children to be independent, learners. The school offers Spanish, music, and art to all students -- from pre-K through 8th grade."

"Homewood Montessori is a wonderful environment in which to have your child educated. It is also one of the most frequently chosen magnet school choices in the City of Pittsburgh. Recently it has been extended to include PreK making it more in line with the Montessori Philosophy. Also classrooms are combined (K-1, 2-3, etc.) to even further encourage student participation in learning. The staff and students are enthusiastic and willing to learn and grow. It will be moving to a new facility in September, which will allow the students to grow even further with the new space! Even with moving preparations, there is a positive, excited atmosphere which encourages learning."
