"I adore this school. The teachers and staff are amazing. They are all very supportive and helpful and the campus is absolutely beautiful. The math program at Malibu High is fantastic, it's very advanced but they also have classes for kids who don't comprehend math as well too. If you live in the Malibu area and your child is going to be going into middle school, don't choose a fancy private school, send them to Malibu High."

"I am the mom of a 9th grade girl. This school obtained a distinguished school award in 2005 however the school has disappointed us. There is a problem with cyber bullying at this school. Even though this is an ongoing problem, the administration has done little to address this problem. Also there are problems with security at the school. The school has just restarted the 'parent eyes' program, where parents patrol the school during school hours. Hopefully this will help address the security issues."

"This school has a beautiful location, one block from the beach. There are ocean views from the ball fields. Our experience with the teachers has been mixed. Some of the teachers are amazing, inspiring roll models but most of the teachers at MHS don't rise above good, average teachers. The children at the school are primarily from wealthy families. Despite or maybe because the majority of children at MHS are children of privileged, there are problems. I encourage all families considering this school to check the articles about MHS in the local newspapers."

"Malibu High School is a terrific school that succeeds because of its incredible level of parent involvement. Parents involve themselves beautifying the gardens to serving on a wide array of booster clubs for fund-raising, arts, sports and of course there is a strong PTSA. The performing arts here are fantastic due to an incredible faculty. The Spanish Department has completely turned over in the past year and a lot of kids relate having a more stimulating curriculum. Like any public school, you have to put in the effort to get the results. There is not a lot of hand holding going on. Students must be motivated to succeed. And those who are, succeed at the very highest levels. Mark Kelly, the current principal, is a terrific administrator. He communicates well, is approachable and is concerned about students performance. We're fortunate to be a parent of two at MHS."

"I have two Malibu High graduates and one entering the 9th grade. RANDOM is the word they use to describe the whole setup. Some Malibu parents are too permissive because they don't want to be bothered to change their own behavior. This is a problem for their children and their peers. The teachers are a mixed bag. But what I want to convey is that the students here are highly creative individuals. The dress code is their own so relax and enjoy the show. Many life long friendships will be formed in this community. As a parent, be strict, delay the age when your child drives up to 18 if you can and be amused. These kids are great and the location is drop dead gorgeous."
