"This school was highly recommended to us years ago. My son got an amazing education the first 2 years he was there (2nd-3rd grades) thanks to one incredible teacher who really excels. After that, he had a teacher who was verbally abusive (as well as throwing chairs and flipping tables) and who taught next to nothing. If enough kids didn't have homework completed, it was excused. The 2nd year with the same teacher, we were shocked to see the exact same homework packet come home as the year prior. The last straw was when his AIMS test scores actually dropped. The teachers do care about the students, but most are more interested in a friendship with them than actually teaching. I appreciate their friendliness and closeness with the students, but there has to be a line drawn between friend and teacher, and unfortunately that line is often blurred at this school."

"As a former student (current high school freshman), I found the education at this school severely lacking. Though the experience was enjoyable enough, I entered high school grossly unprepared. Luckily I'm really smart so I could catch on quick but I still saw huge chunks of missing knowledge. I'll tell you one story: I was two years advanced in math when I was there until I passed pre-algebra (8th grade, the highest math they had) they didn't know what to do. The solution: order a review copy of an algebra 1 book and leave me to teach myself the math. It took me two years to learn that stuff without a teacher. Now, instead of taking algebra 2 my freshman year, I had to take geometry. Furthermore, I was taught absolutely no science from 6th-8th grade. I can't, in good conscience, recommend the school to any parent seeking a good education."

"We have a new director of our fine school, with children of that age group. I have several students in diffrent grade levels attending and I could not be happier with the actual personal intrest so many of the staff expresses toward each child...what inthe world is ' spalding anyway'no wonder our younger children have a hard time learning to read.Mingus springs has triditional learing of phonics, and a wonderful approach to math sience,I could not have cohsen a better school for my children to attend.
