"I had a few children attend this HS. Overall I seen they both enjoyed going to this school; however, their personal motivation was not totally in line with the school's goal. As a parent you try to instill excellence and want your children to always do their best, but it does not always work out that way. I say the school administration has set the right standard for students to achieve. Students have to be taught at an early age to pursue excellence in acamedic achievement. I don't expect the school to make up for what is not developed at home. I do thank for them for trying to encourage the students, but not students get the message. Their job is to educate first and provide them an environment that will allow them to excell. I believe this school has done their job. The parents and students both have to do their part and not expect the school to make up for their short comings. Keep up the good job for setting the standard for the community. I hear constant praise from other parents in the community & workplace how well QHHS is a great school. I second their feedback. What is needed for some children is a course in self respect & motivation for what they lack."

"So far, I have found that they hold their students to a much higher standard than that of the last high school my son attended (KHS). This is definitely a good thing. The bad: the teachers I have been able to meet with, and one of their many Vice Principals, were not so pleasant to talk to and were not interested in working with me to find a solution for our son who is having a hard time keeping up in class (due to 3 years of low expectations at KHS and Desert Willow Elementary). Also, it is 2 months into the school year and they still have no after school tutoring set up for the students, nor are my son's teachers offering any before or after school help. Seeing that it's my son's first year here at QHHS, I will update my review again later, hoping that things improve as the year progresses."

"I went to Quartz Hill High myself and have worked at several other high schools in the district since. Quartz Hill is by far my favorite. As a student, I always had great teachers, who were interested in their subject matter and helpful when I had questions. Office staff was always friendly when I needed them. I never had any problems at the school during the time that I attended. As an employee, I always worked with great staff members who, for the most part, enjoyed their jobs and worked hard at them, always with students in mind. Never had any problems with any other staff members. Most of the students that I worked with were always polite and eager to learn and help when the opportunity arose. When my children get to high school I will gladly enroll them at QHHS. The only other school that I might consider is SOAR, but the rest of the districts high schools are far below even decent standards for a high school."

"I went to Quartz Hill High from 2007-2011 and I loved it. I had some of the most amazing teachers ever! Yes we had a lot of student but we definitely did not have a lot of drama. Out of all my four years there I must have seen about 7 physical fights within students(all underclassmen). If you're kids have drama that's their own fault because I never had a problem there. There is almost 4,000 students and of course you are not going to get along with everyone. I Met some great people and made lifetime friends. Graduated with honors, participated in many events and sports and had a lot of fun. A lot of people don't realize how fortunate we are to have gone to a school with some actual school spirit and that offers activities. Absolutely every student I met in high school that had previously gone to another high school in the AV said that Quartz Hill was 100% safer, cleaner, and had way more activities. My experience was amazing and I am a very proud Rebel!!"

"First of all, if your child and her friends are failing out of a school, maybe it has more to do with your parenting and who you allow your child to hang out with. Sorry, but that had to be said. As has previously been said, Quartz HIll High School gives you all the tools you need to succeed. My child is in the IB program, and in athletics - doing very well in both. The school has tutoring options if your child is struggling, over 100 clubs for your child to become involved in extracurricular activities, and provides a safe atmosphere for all of it. What more do you want? Well...I give it 4 stars instead of 5 just because it's so crowded. But hey, it's a public school in California, so should I be shocked? I moved to this area so I could provide safety and quality schooling for my children, without having to also pay an extra $15,000/yr for private school. That's exactly what I got, and I couldn't be more satisfied. If you're a parent, and not merely a buddy to your child, Quartz Hill HS will more than fit your needs."
