"This school is ranked #4 of the 4 schools in the district. Unfortunately, the teachers get very little support from parents. Some feel it is the schools responsibility to teach the child everything, this includes manners and common courtesy. The principal every morning has an assembly to discuss words of the week and remind students of behavior expectations. This is the rationale behind sending unruly children out of the classroom immediately. This is so the other children are able to continue to learn."

"I think that the teachers need to be more responsible for thier classrooms instead of sending the children out for discipline, the new method is embarrassing to the child and can lower self esteem. The teacher also needs more help in the classroom that way she won't get so frustrated when a child needs her."

"Principal Roger Obrecht administers a good elementary school. I have two reasons for commenting. #1. My grandson attends this school. The teachers are friendly and concerned. Students are treated with respect and kindness. The school is orderly and the students are learning. #2. I am retired but I substitute teach in Rantoul City schools. Last year I taught Kindergarten, 4th and 5th grade classes three times at Eastlawn Elementary School. So, I can see the workings of the school being there from the outside. I am glad that my grandson is attending. If I am not working, I go over to the school every day and meet my grandson after school... so.. I see what's happening! It's a positive learning environment!"
