"All of our kids attend/attended PBS, and we are very satisfied with our experience. The kids are happy to go to school everyday and we have met the nicest parents there who have become our very good friends. Every teachers knows your child and really cares about their development as a learner inside and outside the classroom. Our oldest is a recent grdauate and was accpeted into great middle schools. He placed into honors math and made honor roll, so I really disagree with the person who wrote that negative review. These kids are very well prepared, and most importantly, PBS taught them to love learning. His middle school teachers just reported how engaged and curious he is, and how kind he is. PBS is doing a great job, and if you haven't met the new head, he is REALLY great."

"It s not easy to choose a school. We wondered when oldest started preschool at PBS what the parent population would be like and, with some great public schools around, about the investment. But the ELC was magical, our child loved it and we made family friendships right away. It was an easy decision to continue and send our second there, too. Over the years, our kids have blossomed there. Somehow the school integrates compassion, good communication and respect for others into the kids daily experience. It s true, there isn t as much homework in early grades as other schools (I see this as a gift), but in later grades their skills ramp fast as kids have benefited from a deliberate curriculum designed to encourage critical thinking, imagination & collaboration. Scott Erickson & Erik Carlson are smart and forward-looking. The environment is nurturing & teachers/specialists are deeply invested in the kids. Tamara Dibble is a stand out; igniting a passion for music in the kids. As with every school, you have to seek out relationships in the parent body that work for you; you get out what you seek out. In our experience, PBS is exceptional and we could not be making a better investment."

"We have three children at Phillips Brooks and have been pleased with the program all the way from preschool through fifth grade. Every step of the way, the children at PBS learn to follow where their curiosity leads them, to respect themselves and their fellow classmates, and to push the boundaries of what they think they already know. My children have become creative writers, enthusiastic mathematicians, budding musicians and so much more. Phillips Brooks is a very special place where children are happy to go to school and sad to leave when they graduate!"

"Our family could not be more pleased with Phillips Brooks. With all due respect to the person who wrote the negative review, I strongly disagree with the assertion that graduates are not academically prepared. Our child graduated from PBS last year, was admitted to a very selective school and felt completely prepared for her new, academically rigorous middle school environment. But, more important to us than how she performed in any individual subject is the fact that at PBS, our child learned how to become a lifelong learner. She learned how to think critically, ask questions, and present her ideas clearly -- all in a safe, kind, and supportive environment. We are incredibly grateful to the school."

"We were in PBS for 4 1/2 years, before I moved my daughter to La Entrada. I wish I had made this move much earlier. When my daughter started La Entrada we were shocked how far she was behind, academically. It took quite some tutoring to get her caught up. I do hope that the new principal at PBS will make some serious changes so kids will have an easier time adjusting to Middle School. Most PBS kids are not prepared at all. Another concern is that in the following grades, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade, they have one really great teacher, and one teacher that really shouldn't be there anymore."
