"Teachers at Byron are hit or miss. I've had some of the worst teachers I've ever had and have been treated very poorly by them, and I have also developed personal relationships with some of my other teachers that I am very thankful for. The good outweigh the bad, but the bad are the worst."

"The school itself is pretty diverse, but it wasn't always like that. So being apart of the class of 2016, I saw the lack of diversity and then the diversity completely picked up within a year. Some students had trouble responding to it and were very negative. The culture of the student body within Byron is horrific. Specific students run situations and can turn most of the class against one person and completely isolating them. It is not a good place if you are strong minded and opinionated."

"It's honestly a predominately white school, but there is some ethnic and racial diversity in the school."
    Topic: Overall Experience | Rating:

"I would not attend Byron again if given the opportunity. I personally had an extremely bad experience with other students due to petty drama, slander and even defamation. If I could go back in time, I would go to a different high school to have a better high school experience. Other friends of mine loved Byron, and had a hard time leaving for school. It's all about the experience. Dr. Myers is an excellent principal and has a bad wrap, but he definitely made my experience easier."
    Topic: Academics | Rating:
    Posted 2016-09-01
"I've been pretty negative, but the academia at Byron Nelson is unmatched unless you go into Highland Park. We are competitive academically with Southlake Carroll. I graduated with a 3.76 and was not in the top 10%. In comparison, a local school (Timber Creek) will have a lower average GPA within the top 10%. It is a very competitive school, and the teachers do an excellent job of teaching the information. The only complaint is that I do not feel college-ready. There is too much lenience when it comes to a late assignment. In college, if you turn something in and the class ended 5 seconds prior it is late and will not be graded."
