    "I have to disagree with the statement saying that the teachers don't care. My child has been their 5 years and I have only seen good things come from her and other students. You need to relize they are in school for 8 hours it is the parents responsibility to help their child to deal with homework and teach their child how to pace themselves. The school is only prepairing them for middle and high school. It's a mean world we live in so we have to teach these kids to be stong at a very young age."

    "I agree w/the parent below(post on Oct. 18,2011). I don't think this school even deserves 1 star. Many other parents w/children attending Marjory Vickery Elementary and I unanimously agree that there is incompetence in this school's leadership. Lack of accountability, zero monitoring of teachers in class.Parents have NO voice at this school but are instead unfairly held responsible and blamed for inadequacies of the school! I've never witnessed such denial from a school before. Leadership here has got to get real and wake up and start LISTENING to parents!!"

    "My children have attended Vickery for several years now and every year proves more disappointing than the last.Many of the teachers clearly do not embrace/accept that every child is unique,and it seems like very few are passionate about teaching.After all these years I still haven't witnessed the teachers/faculty being observed during classroom instruction which leads me to wonder if administrators are assessing/monitoring the quality or conduct of teachers on this campus.This campus dropped from TEA "Recognized" to "Academically Acceptable" since last school year, so science has tragically been omitted & the curriculum this year is tailored to raise standardized test scores BUT at the expense of creativity & imagination. As a result, my kids & many other students are extremely overloaded with homework & are feeling stressed and already approaching burnout for the year! How unfortunate that it is the children(and thus, the parents) must pay the price because of the direct result of, in my opinion, one simple problem: the school's poor leadership.Absence of strong leadership has caused mismanaged priorities, lack of quality control regarding teachers & staff & a tense atmosphere."

    "Great, ethnically diverse and balanced school. Excellent staff w/ high standards and family values. LEAP program available for gifted/talented, and help available for those that lag behind. Teachers are completely invested in their childrens' success, socially and academically. The best thing is the lack of elitism and entitlement prevalent in so many Flower Mound area schools. I believe an environment such as Vickery will leave their children much more equipped to be responsible, effective members of society than they would at some other "privileged" schools. I put my child in this school by choice, and have not regretted it one day. He has positively blossomed in every regard. I wish, however, more parents would get their priorities straight and set aside even two hours each month to participate in their school community... but the school cannot be held responsibile for parents having to work harder and longer in this economy."
