"There needs to be more emphasis in reading thru the school. Maybe a good start would be a small thing like reading logs. Which a child must read at least 10 books per week in his or her reading level and have a parent initial that their child has in fact read or was read to. Too much repetitious homework is boring our children. Emphasis on quality of learning has disappeared. Teaching for state tests is important but the low test scores must come up. Coming from a southern school with 85% and up in all areas of academics is a real shock this is extremely disappointing for a NY school. Considering home school in the near future! Very disappointed."

"Overall my experience with the registration process has been excellent. I am enrolling three kids, Kindergarten, Second and Third grade. I expected a lot more hassle. The school proved to be organized and the office staff very helpful. The teachers are very experienced and let you know in advance what to expect and how to help in the improvement of your child. Most importantly, even though this is a good school don't expect the teachers to do all the work; as parents we have the responsibilities to create an environment at home where the children will feel comfortable letting us know what happened in school and when there is a need for improvement in both our part and the school's."

"Do most of the kids make the grade, yes... However, they fully admit that they teach for the State Exams and not for academic acheivement. Teacher quality varies by grade and who a child gets is the luck of the draw. There is little consistancy in the quality."
