"I loved East. I've been to 6 different high schools and this is by far my favorite. Every school has its flaws, but I noticed that if I asked for help, I would actually get it here. The teachers were nice, though I can't say that of some of the students, they are not what's important. While I attended East my grades went up and I found it easier to succeed, and actually found myself willing to do my homework."

"East probably has the worst rap for all the high schools in the area. Like most things in life we are only in the spot light for the few individuals who tend to be idiots (excuse the inappropriate but true title to give those students) and purposely cause trouble. East is almost never a first choice but more of a last resort. But East really isn't all that bad. You are given almost every opportunity as the other Rockford School District high school and then some. Unlike any other high school in the area we offer Sign language. Maybe the one thing people cannot understand about how we all manage. They do not realize we accept difference with open arms and a willing heart. I am currently a sophmore and I plan to graduate in 2010."

"I think that East High School is one of the best. Every different individual makes what they want out of school, if you don't like school then don't waste the taxpayers money and if you really like school then it doesn't matter where you go as long as you put your best effort into it. School is not bad, it's what students make of it."

"East high is not the best school is the world because there are so many people who dont care about school at East. It's all about what you make it. If you exceed you can do realy good at east but if you dont care you will fail."

"East has provided a wonderful academic experience for my daughter. She is a junior, in all honors classes, and was named Illinois State Scholar. She has been in Athletics all 3 years, and loves it! People learn if their families make it a priority. Athletics at East and the whole of district 205 would be competitive if we would get rid of that ridiculous 2.0 requirement."
