"The last 3 years of my life have been spent staring at the teachers from the back of the classroom while they lecture. While some might sa this would be boring and hard to learn from, the teachers at Grant make it bearable. I can follow along, I can understand, I am engaged, I remember their words. Some students don't learn that way of course, especially if the teacher just drones on and on about uniteresting subjects. But our teachers don't drone (most of the time) and they couple their lectures with things like ghost notes or projects. I also find that they will stop and explain it again and again until you understand it completely. They are respectful when you don't understand as well. Of course, this all sounds dandy, but there are always improvements to be made. Last year, my World History class consisted only of projects and tests and presentations and my teacher never once stood us and told about the events. We taught our class and we are DEFINITELY not qualified to teach."

"I recently joined our theater program at Grant. I'm not an actor or anything like that. I help with all things behind the scenes. This last show has been so incredibly stressful for everyone involved, actors and techies alike. It doesn't help that the usual teacher helping out is off in the Middle East risking his life while he left us with a very inexperienced director. Not that I have a problem with the director, it's just hard to do things that we don't know to do. Anyway, as the show gets closer, I become more stressed and finally, I just snapped. I hadn't been eating properly and I had a terrible case of stress pimples, but worst of all I was an emotional wreck. Today, I stood in the Scene Shop, crying, and my fellow techies came to pick me back up. That is what makes Grant magical, and why I would never trade it for another school. I can always count on the people around me to care and to help out when it is needed, despite the fact that literally everyone involved in the Mary Poppins production is a wreck as well. So we will just be wrecks together."

"I have been a student athlete all for year sin high school at Grant, and I would do it all over again if I could. Our sports team may not win State Championships, but the amount of time, and efforts put into each sport at Grant is countless. I have enjoyed being involved with my school by participating in sports, tutoring, and being an aid for our office ladies. Grant is unique due to its school spirit. some of my favorite experiences come from the super fanning at football games, the four hundred students that showed up for the conference chamiponship volleyball game that I was honored to play in, and amazing theatric performances. If I could pick to do high school all over again there is no doubt in my mind that I would choose Grant again. I have learned so much about myself and what I want to do with my future, but also have figured out how to use several resources to maintain my grades."
