"i honestly was not there for long but, my expiernece was good . my teachers were nice and funny, they used a lot of graphs. you can defenetly tell they had expierence with kids. the teachers kinda lack communication skills. i found consistency in the grading pretty good...overall i guess its a good school if you don't get caught up in the wrong crowd."

"Some teachers teaching styles are hard to get a grasp on, but most teachers try their best to make sure the students understand the material"

"my overall experience with jon jay highschool was pretty good. It was a bit intense at first; but then again its highschool i didnt have much experience with the school; sense i had to get homeschool and work for my household due to my parents health problems, but id say what makes this school uniqe is the area it is in and the reputation that it carries. Jon jay is known for high percentage of STDs and drugs. and to end this small paragragh i would not go back nor would i send my own kids to this school."

"I think most of parental involvement is only related to clubs and organizations like sports."

"I feel as though I've honestly wasted my time, perhaps partly due to my own fault, but in addition to this school just being average or mostly below average at everything. I hated it in the beginning, the broken A/C the first week my freshman year didn't help either, and it was a bad start. Then I got used to being here. I was there for the magnet school but it's extremely overrated and hyped than it really is. If your a good student in Texas (i.e. top 10%) don't worry about trying to get into a top school here like UT, A&M, or others. You'll be fine wherever you go to high school. I tried to stay busy with AP classes(that they try to shove down your throat) but are actually a joke and band class. I went to class about 99% of each school year I went to my classes then the bell would ring and it was time to go to the next class. As for band they over work us. And we're not even that good. A really good awesome band family though with memories I cherish as I type this. To sum up the magnet school won't really make you stand out in college admissions unless you're higher up on the social economic status and a stable family to back you up constantly."
