"I really like my school but since it's a public school, I feel as if it could be a lot better and has room for improvements. The staff is mostly friendly but it does have some teachers who never grew a happy face. The learning experiences have been good for me and my classmates. I usually understand what is being taught but occasionally, I have to attend tutoring to get some extra help. Overall though, I really enjoy school and the staff. Without them, I wouldn't be where I am today."

"I enjoy going to school everyday. Yes, I realize I sound like I'm sounding a bit of a "teacher's pet" but it is the truth and I am not a "teacher's pet". It's athletic department is amazing and pushes me to set goals and be a great team member and leader in the swim team. The fine arts department is the best in Texas. Our band played at Carnegie Hall, our dance teams win national competitions every year, the choir and drama clubs make it to the regional devision in UIL, and everyone cares about fine arts as much as academics so it's a beautiful, artistic atmosphere. The NJROTC teams win national championships every year, and are like an extended part of family. The extracurricular clubs such as Girl Scouts, National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, and Game Changers are extremely involved in the community and the improvement of our school. The teachers that I've had in the past have been so great to me and helped me even when I felt as if I could never be taught. Everyone at Southwest is kind and generous and always there when you need them. I've only talked about the clubs, teachers, and electives I've been apart of so I can't speak for everything in my school but I know without a shadow of a doubt that they are helpful and pure in heart and will always be reliable even in the toughest situations. I would definitely attend Southwest High if I had the choice to start high school all over again."

"The school did a great job of getting the students, parents, as well as the community involved."

"The 'Pride' in this school is overwhelming, it ranges from students, to parents, to grandparents, to great-grands(if you have them), to friends of family, and so on. Football games, of course are one of the biggest events and crowd drawers, even when the team wasn't/isn't top-notch, and right next to that is the band, said to be "one of the biggest and the baddest" in the area."

"Teacher take the time to know their students individually and give the one on one attention students need."
