"First two years here were wonderful. After the administration changed, however, everything started going downhill. Mostly classes were still the same, teachers were still great, but overall the policies weren't good. Many older teachers were fired and replaced by younger teachers, and those who stayed voiced their concerns about the administration to many of their students. The new head of school is really trying to make the school elite. She upped the tuition, cut teacher salaries, cut library funding, cut club funding, cut theatre and art funding- cut most things besides making the campus prettier and fancier, even adding a coffee stand to the campus. If I had been told there would be a coffee stand as a freshman, and the theatre would be falling apart, I would have laughed. It became ridiculous. I heard about kids who couldn't even afford to stay here anymore because of how high the tuition got. No student should ever have to leave a school they stayed at for 2-3+ years just because they couldn't pay anymore. I'm not even going to get into the homophobia (which I and many of my friends experienced). The classes, again, were wonderful. I don't regret that part of my high school at all. My teachers made me who I am today. I loved the academics, the clubs, theatre, the friends I made. It just wasn't worth it in the end. I would live it again, but I wouldn't go back now, not with this administration. Anyone who goes there now should agree with me."

"Most of the teachers are really great. Most of the teachers are very young, since almost all of the older teachers have been replaced over the last few years by the new administration. The older ones are the best, but they also know that they'll probably have to leave soon because of the changing school policies. Many teachers have actually talked to their students about how terrible things have gotten for them (new rules, worse salaries, etc.). There are a few bad teachers, who really don't care about the students or who can actually be mean to students."

"Most of the teachers at OLP are very caring of the students and they make learning fun. Some of the teachers need to change with the technology advancements. But overall, the teachers are fun and are wonderful people."

"This school has been a place for me to grow from a young girl to a young woman. It fosters the growth of young women and they do a wonderful job challanging students. However, the school is difficult and very stressful."

"Since the school is all girls, it made it easier to focus on academics. The school itself is very challenging but every alumnae says that it is very beneficial coming to the academy before college. If I could do it all over I would definitely go to OLP again because it had a focus of creating an all around independent woman and has taught me that my opinion is valued and I think that is very important."
