"While my family is no longer in the Pacific Beach area, my daughter started at this school when they still had a full time preschool program and stayed there for 4 years. I cannot say enough about the teachers and staff and how much they go above and beyond to make sure their students get what they need. I was the President of the PTO, volunteered for the PTA, learned how to play the violin in the Suzuki program along with my daughter, worked at the school, and was so impressed by the community of parents that has supported the school and volunteered for the events that raise money to keep the music programs running. We have a new principal that started last year in 2011 who has come in and done a phenomenal job of supporting all of the teachers, staff, and parents in continuing the music programs and providing the resources to make sure every student is receiving the best education possible. You cannot make a better decision than to send your children to CPJMA where the whole family will be welcomed with open arms. Look at the music programs, test scores, and quality of the staff! Definitely a 10! We will greatly miss being a part of this wonderful school! Jen A."

"I am so pleased with our decision to sent our kids to CPJMA. This school is really a hidden gem and one that has made me believe in Public Education once again. After much research and school tours we decided to sent our kids to CPJMA and crossed our fingers hoping for the best. The new Principal is a visionary leader and excellent listener. She works hard and you can see how genuine she cares about everyone there from the teachers, parents, students and overall staff. All the teachers seem happy and both my kids loved going to school each and every day. It was a year full of learning and I am specially proud of the Suzuki violin program and Music Club. The Music program at this school is imbedded throughout the curriculum and the students are constantly expose to amazing Music opportunities like the San Diego Symphony. Academic excellence is top priority at CPJMA. To see my kids thriving, making great progress and meeting loving and caring families that truly care about their kid's education is what I was hoping for in a school. I found a Great School in Crown Point Jr. Music Academy and this school restored my hope in Public Ed even during this horrible Budget Crisis."

"As both parent and community member in Pacific Beach, I have been increasingly pleased with the development of the CPJMA program and staff since the school became a Music Academy in 2008. Yes, the school has experienced a change in principals, had to be creative in funding what they value, lost some fine employees, and faced threat of being moved from our location, but they still continues to thrive and exceed expectations in many ways. I have one child in the pull out violin instruction and one who does not participate in violin. Both are happy in school and enjoy the camaraderie of their classmates and the love of their teachers. Music is imbedded in their classroom lessons, assemblies, field trips, and voluntary afterschool activities so it is obvious the level of dedication that the principal and teachers have to keeping music a part of the campus. I invite all who are interested, to become part of the great things happening on the campus and I recommend joining the parent involvement groups. Volunteers who create positive energy and provide support on campus are important to the success of all schools at this time of economic strife. Jennifer Sp."

"My child has been at CPJMA for two years now. Overall, an OK school. The new principal does not seem to care as much about the music as our former principal did. The parent involvement is sub-par at best as the PTA seems to not be open to new ideas. Same stuff year after year. The only thing this school has going for it is the teachers and even then, the good ones got pink slipped. The Suzuki program is pretty much gone now. Considering moving our child to another school."

"As the Secretary at Crown Point Junior Music Academy, I am so fortunate to work at such a great school. Parent involvement and Volunteers are an essential part of what makes our school such a great success. I am thankful for the great staff, families, and students i work with everyday. If you are interested in a tour, call the school office and either myself, Cathy Calderon, our school clerk, Mauricio, or the principal will be happy to show you around."
