"At first I was reluctant to send my child here because of everything negative I had heard in the past; however, I was informed by a therapist that because of their bad circumstances the school was granted money to fix the issues. I do believe that they have. My son transfered in mid-year and the Principal was so interested in the success of my son that before the 1st week was over she had already checked on my child and was suggesting that his learning habits were not correctly matched with the teacher and her methods and recommended transferring him to a different teacher whom she felt would fit him better. Throughout the rest of the year, not only was the Principal eager and willing to help (my child also suffers from ADHD) but so were all the 2nd grade teachers. They found that my son learned differently for each subject and accommodated him by having him change classes for each subject to get exactly what he needs from all the different teachers. ie, his homeroom teacher was only going over adding and subtraction for math, where the teacher he got to travel to was going over multiplication which is where he was academically. I am very pleased with the school and staff. A++ :)"

"Felicita School has a rich history in our Escondido community serving children and families in "Old Escondido" for more than 60 years. This is first year serving this community as the school principal. This is the 1st year where we are "transforming" Felicita to better meet the needs of our amazing students and families. @ the core of ALL we do are the Felicita Transformation Foundational Principles. This core is as result of a synthesis of community (parents, staff & students) visioning & researching successful reform designs. OUR GOAL: Development of the WHOLE child (Cognitive / Social/Emotional / Physical), prepared for the 21st century. We invite you to come and see our iLearn program."

"As a parent and the husband of a teacher I give Felicita high marks. The school is in a heavy hispanic area, and many parents display a total lack of interest in their kid's education. Despite that the staff do a wonderful job of melting many very low students, with those much higher. Fine school in a tough to teach area."

"This school is trying, but it is so densely populated with kids trying to learn English that it is hard for my child to advance. I'm looking for a different school."
