    "I went to this school from kindergarten to fifth grade. I loved it! All my teachers were amazing and helpful. Kumeyaay Elementary is a wonderful school!"

    "Kumeyaay is a school parents can be proud of! Once again, my child was taught by one of SDUSD's finest teachers, a former Teacher of the Year, and challenged throughout her 4th grade year. This year my daughter made amazing progress and has found a love of school she had never exhibited before. The PTA and Foundation, along with parent support, supplement an overall excellence in education."

    "Our daughter attended K-2 at Kumeyaay. In our first year, it was a very tough first couple of weeks due to our class not having a kindergarten teacher from the beginning of school. It was no fault of the school, but of the district. The principal did everything in his power to make it work out well, and it eventually did. Our second year had a bit of a rough go having no one at the helm as our principal became sick and wasn't around, though we had good fill-in principals. Our third year introduced a wonderful new principal who clearly loves Kumeyaay and is working tirelessly to ensure Kumeyaay remains a top quality school. Parent involvement is super (at least those that do participate) and the teachers are truly unparalleled. The Foundation, PTA and volunteers work tirelessly to provide basic programs such as art, music and science in the school that the district no longer provides. The teachers are some of the best around. The parents/students should feel very blessed to have these amazing teachers. The nurse and the office staff round off an excellent team! I am sad that we had to move, but Kumeyaay will always be a special place to me and my family."

    "Kumeyaay deserves the Great School's rating of 10 in all areas. Kumeyaay was already great when I did the last review about 3 years ago and now it even became excellent! If a parent/parents are disappointed with Kumeyaay because it lacks staff or has budget cut-backs, I believe that it is beyond the school's control. because of the current economic situation and I am sure that other schools also experience this. A lot of of parents of Kumeyaay students are so involved to augment the needs of the school and the students and that could be one of the biggest factors why Kumeyaay has achieved its excellent status. Also, there was a time that there were principals who temporarily filled in the position, but that was for a short time and it was part of the transition when Kumeyaay needs to find its permanent principal. I believe, it's worth the wait because, Kumeyaay has, again, found a great, committed, and hands-on permanent principal. I think, when someone feels that the school is a big disappointment, it is time for us to ask ourselves 'have we done anything for the school?', because in the end it will also be for the benefit of our children."

    "The best school ever!! Great, caring teachers! My kids love their school and being a military family we move a lot, and Kumeyaay is the best school my kids ever went to. Great patent involvement and teachers supprt! Thank you Kumeyaay for making a difference!!!"
