"All teachers have deep content expertise in the subjects they teach, many have PHDs. They are also caring, approachable and genuinely interested in their student's learning."

"UHS is a pretty awful school in just about all regards. Academics wise, the English program is awful, history is decent sometimes, math and physics are pretty good, and other science is mediocre. Then there's Civ, which is a terrible, useless class that they use to break all of their sophmores. Socially wise, two thirds the students are stuck up and preppy, coming from feeder schools that their parents bought them into, and the rest are mostly socially imcompetent. While the college matriculation looks nice, it's pretty misleading because the students who did well would have gotten in no matter where they went to high school because they're either really smart or they have legacy."

"You definitely have to work very hard to compete here. It's important to know yourself/"limits" before coming here, and know you can handle the workload and rigor. High school goes by too fast almost, so it's important to have goals on what you want to do coming here."

"It's very easy to create close connections with teachers here. We call them by their first names, so that already creates a sort of bond that a lot of students don't get at their school. Teachers will not approach you if you are struggling in the class, but may do so if it's serious. It's important to be proactive here and teachers really enjoy it when you see them during Meetings period (1 hr period after every school day) and will often grade you higher if you do."
