"Ms. Knight is awesome...the best teacher my child has ever had so far! I also like the fact that they have after school activities for the kids to socialize...festivals, dances, etc. My kids love attending these events and so do I :)"

"Empire is no different than any of the other downtown schools at our district as far as academics. Overall, I think they have a great team of teachers. But a parent still has to look out for the interest of their child. 'Downtown' teachers have a lot on their plate, especially when it comes to behaviour problems with their students. The advice I give to parents- is to stay connected to your child's school. If you see or hear about a problem. Talk to the teacher. If you are not satisfied with the results write a letter to the Principal. If administation is still not acting on your complaint, write to the District. Knock on as many doors as you have to, to get the results you need. It's alot of time and energy, but it will pay off, and your child will benefit. It has worked for me. Good Luck!"
