"One of the best middle schools in San Jose."

"I'm a student, and I think this school is great! Most of the teachers are very skilled at what they do, and the programs are wonderful. St. Martin's certainly prepares you well for any high school you choose to go to. Go St. Martin of Tours Bengals!"

"One of the most dificult Silicon Valley schools to get your kid into. Most parents are involved in the parish and school (money & time) a full year or more before they apply to get their kid into Kindergarten. Definitely an inside 'in' group feeling that is hard to break into. Good: Very active parish and school. Great students. Many classes offered in advance and standard versions. Kindergarten teacher is well respected. School offers one of the best set of programs (full Spanish classes, Music, School play, Yosemite camping trips, etc.). 2/3rd of graduating students went to Archbishop Mitty (surprised at few number of students choosing well respected Bellarmine or Notre Dame). Bad: Not much student body diversity (physical & mental). Competes with nearby St. Leo and St. Clare which are also well"

"St. Martin's provides a safe learning environment for middle schoolers. Students can still play at lunch and be the children theyare. Parent involvement is mainly fund raising. I would like to see more parent involvement in the classrooms and more field trips. Overall teacher quality is average to good, it really depeands on the teacher. The homework expectation is responsible. They use some workbook work and some project work. I would like to see more hands on work especially in science. I believe the adminsitrators understand approriate guidnace and discipline while many parents want old fashion punishment. Provides an excellent springborad for private high school."
