"Teachers at San Domenico are PASSIONATE about teaching children. Not only do they understand them developmentally but the also are dedicated to the craft of teaching, never resting on their laurels, and always implementing new teaching strategies and methodologies when appropriate. SD's faculty are cutting edge! They're supported in this because they are allowed to participate in a generous amount of professional development and training. In addition, they collaborate with one another, sharing ideas, tips, and what works best in their classrooms. They are also passionate about their subject matter! Most of the teachers hold masters degrees in their subject areas. And most importantly, they truly care about educating the whole child. Everyday, they attend to their students' social & emotional wellbeing as well as engaging them intellectually. They also always build in time for students to reflect which helps kids make sense of what they're learning, and ultimately helps them to find their own passions and purpose. And if that's not enough, San Domenico students LOVE learning! The teachers and administrators talk about the notion that 'joy' and 'school' should go hand in hand; at San Domenico, they do! I am so grateful to SD for educating both my son and daughter and helping them to grow into their best, most creative, authentic, and kind selves. The fact that they are are still voracious about learning (in 8th and 12th grade) and inspired everyday by their teachers is priceless. I wish every child had a chance to experience an SD education!"

"San Domenico's academics are top notch! The teachers ask the kids to question, think critically, and think outside the box! It is very cutting edge in terms of best practices in education and the teachers and administrators are always looking for ways to improve and refine their teaching strategies and content. Students are challenged by the rigorous academics without feeling overwhelmed. They are taught study skills starting in 4th grade in which they discuss things like resilience, growth mindset, making mistakes, advocating for oneself, working in groups, collaborating, pushing beyond your own perceived boundaries, communication with teachers, using creativity to solve problems, etc. There are opportunities for both group projects and individual learning. There is an emphasis on project-based learning, which makes the learning come alive for my kids."

"The breadth of the class offering could be a bit more robust but, overall, the program is excellent."

"San Domenico has far exceeded all of my expectations. My children have received an incredible education while growing into thoughtful, kind, and purpose-driven people. Everyday, they are asked to show up as their best selves. They are engaged in their academics and have developed a great appreciation for the life of the mind. They are also learning social and emotional skills such as resilience, perseverance, and the value of reflection, mindfulness (they even have a class on mindfulness!), as well as the importance of friendships, celebration, and following their passions. When my daughter was here, she particularly loved her time in the garden; students plant, tend, harvest, prepare, and eat many of the crops grown in the garden! They also sell their garden products such as lavender soaps, jams, salsa, pesto, etc., at the annual Garden Faire which is an all school community event and a fall highlight! My son has picked up guitar here and loves the annual Arts in Action concert where he performs with his peers. He has also taken to drawing and loves his time in the art studio. Mathletes Club is another one of his highlights along with all the nice kids he's met at SD!"
