"Pio Pico has a lot of community involvement, and really great parents to step up as budget problems get worse. Parents assist in many areas to help things run smoothly. One thing I would like to mention is the value they place on gifted students. They make every effort to find gifted learners opportunities including testing for John Hopkins Center for Talented Youth, and an after-school program for gifted students. The staff is so supportive of gifted children and their needs, that I would feel comfortable recommending this school for parents in the area."

"I was blessed to be a part of their HOSTS program, where I would go in weekly and mentor students. The principal, Judy Magsaysay, the program facilitators and all the teachers I met, were amazing, caring, inspiring people, The care they had for the children was exceptional. They worked ceaselessly to inspire them to be advocates for peace (vs gangs) and ways to improve themselves (and improve their self-respect) at every turn. Their participation in the HOSTS program was just one of the many ways they achieved this."
