    "If you want a fine example of just how well the "standardized" curriculum is working at AZMA, take a look at the "Test Scores & Stats" tab towards the top of this page. Here are just a few that should turn your stomach: 5th Grade Math: Was 100% in 2009, down to a pathetic 40% in 2011. 5th Grade Writing: Was 100% in 2010, down to 40% just a year later. 6th Grade Math: 100% in 2008, down to 43% in 2011. 6th Grade Writing: 83% in 2008, down to 43% in 2011. This is absolutely PATHETIC! THIS is what AZMA is bragging about? This is what I call a failure of epic proportions! Our children are paying the price for this school's collective ineptitude! How this school is still licensed to "educate" children is beyond me! The administration came up with some very creative excuses for their own failures, but I'm not interested in excuses. I am interested in my child's education."

    "Since we left I was not sure if I should post a review but decided I wished someone would have warned me. Some of the 5 stars reviews here are more for how a montessori school should work. Just save yourself the complete aggravation of this place and get on the wait list for Villa if you want a quality montessori school. This school was a "performing" school last year and now they are only a B school which is not particularly impressive given its boasting about small size and academic excellence. This school now has a dreadful reputation in the valley. When we saw the easy level of work assigned in class despite assurances kids would work at their own level (my 6 year old able to read difficult chapter books but single syllable spelling tests coming home, easily doing multiplication but still being assigned single digit addition in class) we went looking for a new school. Every school we called told us they were aware of "the situation" at MA and many parents had withdrawn their kids for various reasons. If you are considering this school it is hard to tell from these reviews just call around the nearby schools and ask about its reputation. I wish I had."

    "Every school or experience in life can be viewed in many different ways. The administration team at Montessori Academy is extremely caring, supportive and most of all involved. Every teacher is dedicated and genuinely cares for the children, spending many weekend, and after school hours preparing for the classroom. The curriculum is standardized for all grades. Each month, a set curriculum and activities are required. This can be viewed in each child s personal curriculum folder, which a parent can view at any time. It lists, in each area of study, the lessons that need to be accomplished each month. The folder is also used to track the child s progress throughout the school year. Math and language lessons are added to the month, individualized to each child. Every teacher is an individual, just as is every child. Teachers give lessons in slight variations or practice material in slightly different ways. That is what makes each teacher great, their individual personality and enthusiasm! As a teacher, Montessori Academy embodies a supportive, dedicated and caring community, filled with passionate extremely intelligent professionals."

    "I'm so pleased with this school. My children attended a different Montessori School in Scottsdale and came home each day with feelings of low self esteem and worthlessness. My son is very intelligent and active. The principal at Montessori Academy along with his teachers have worked so hard to help my son. On our last parent conference I actually became emotional because of their genuine care and desire to help all students. If your're considering this school you won't be disappointed"

    "I am so happy for my daughter to be at such a wonderful school!! The teachers and assistants are all so great! The administration does an amazing job in communicating to the parents on a very profesisonal friendly level. I have seen all the growth the school has been through, and is still thriving to be the top school in arizona. This is what Montessori is all about, great people all working together as a team for a better future!! Our children.....thank you Montessori Academy for everything you are doing!! All of the negative comments that people put on here are really sad to hear, but it should also make you think about the children they put in montessori. Just because they dont get their way, they think they can talk badly about a school. Instead of putting down the school focus their energy on working with teachers/administrators and their children to have a positive outcome. Really take a close look at the child, sometimes its hard to do! Thank you again to all the hard work you do on a daily basis!"
