"CES is only average academically & poor to below average when it comes to caring for children. As a childcare provider, I am appalled at how my child was treated. My child's teacher last year is one the school raves about, however my son's experience wasn't so great. Having been raised in another country, he is not accustomed to how things are here. There was no consideration from his teacher that he may think/act different culturally. He was judged negatively because he didn't respond in a manner she expected/demanded. Here he was taught that he is bad and was lectured about the tiniest thing he said or did with no consideration for his age/maturity (1st grade). It was very clear, just from her notes home, that she was assuming entirely too much about his thoughts/behavior and was judging him harshly for it. Speaking with her about it did no good, she was very closed minded. My son used to love school, now he hates it and doesn't want to go which really upsets me. If things aren't better this year, I will be sending him to a different school."
