    "I am a parent of a 7th grader in the Math Academy. I am very pleased with the academy. The teachers are very passionate about their work and caring towards the students - Mrs. McGuckin, Mrs. Yamasaki and Mr. Rosenthal. My daughter loves the school. The music department is also very good. She has had Ms. Gold for both years in the Senior band and she loves it. Like most public schools, the budget cuts has affected the school with regards to personnel, but not the quality of instruction. There are also many programs and activities for the youth to get involved in. I highly recommend Millikan. I hope that going charter next year will bring about more positive changes."

    "In response to the 5/11 post, we do not live within the blue line nor did our daughter get in on magnet points. We followed the process detailed online, she auditioned for Musical Theater, was accepted then we applied for an SAS permit based on her grades. She is now approaching 8th grade and loves her school. Sadly we've lost so many clerical people due to budget that it's difficult for anyone to be in a pleasant mood with the workload. We will hopefully be approved as an affiliated charter allowing more flexible funds allocation. So yes, you can consider it as an option if you really want it."

    "In response to the last posted review dated April 10, 2012, that's the thing, unless our lucky to have been selected through the magnet program, or you live within that blue line exactly, then, as a parent there is no "considering it" as an option for middle school, and if anyone else has had the mispleasure of dealing with the administration office, then let's give them a thumbs up for being rude, and making you feel like they are so much better than you."

    "I've been a student at Millikan 6th, 7th, and currently 8th grade, and I've read the review on this website and I'm genuinely surprised at how many negative reviews there are about this school. The parent that said that their child got bullied just for wearing glasses and for being "cubby" well I think there is more o the story than that because I wear glasses and I'm not exactly thin either yet I've never had any experiences with bullying at this school. The school has exceptional academics as well as great choices for kids who advance in math or science, and an amazing performing arts department, the music, drama, and dance teachers are phenomenal. Now don't get me wrong, this school like pretty much all others has its flaws some of which include a weak history department, large class sizes, and the in my opinion mean P.E teachers(particularly Mr. Cahn), but over all this school is amazing in relation to many other school I've seen, and it is an excellent choice for all parents and students considering it as an option for middle school."

    "Ok. Well the last post before this : My son went here and everyday he got bullied for wearing glasses and being kinda chubby. They always hit him and harassed him ! The teachers just said don't do it again and the dean said i will talk to them which he never did and everything kept going on just like this. I personally think everyone in the school is too judgy and they need to be more respectful! My son is now in John Burroughs and he actually gets treated right. They also actually teach him things and always hlp if he needs help. Millikan is the opposite he told me they talk about their lives (most of the teachers,not ALL) He also had to sit in the front of the room and every time someone passed by they would hit him and call him a name of some sort. I am telling you I do not suggest this school to anyone. We would have been better without it."
