"I was a former teacher. No matter what is said, Test scores are horrible. Sadly, this is a reflection on the educational model at Highland where a less rigorous approach to education is implemented. Teachers cannot teach when administrators who will not address repeated discipline problems in the the classroom. While the movement in NJ seems to eliminate the 'D" grade so students fail if they don't achieve a 'C' Highland wants to eliminate the 'Zero" Preventing teachers from giving a grade less than a 'D'. To teachers dismay, the emphasis at highland is on Social Skills and not Academics"

"I am a former student and now current teacher at Highland High School. I had a great experience here and was involved in many clubs and sports. The school has truly grown into a close knit community. I am proud to say I was and still am a Tartan. The opportunities are endless and so is the dedication the administration and staff show to each student."

"I feel that my time at Highland High School was not as useful as it would have been at a cathlic school like PVI or Bishop H. Even though the school is very well put together, it does not seem like there are too many kids getting into IV league colleges. I'm sorry to the kids who don't realize this like I didn't, but others should take this into consideration."

"i graduated from highland 2 years ago, and looking at the school now it seems like it is going down hill, the students are just geting worse and worse. there has to be some way to get the students to care more, and give it their all."

"I am a former student of Highland. I feel Highland is a good school. I was offered many opportunities to expand my education (honors classes, dual credit programs) that have definitely enhanced my college experience as well as made high school more memorable. The staff is great, and students who excel are rewarded with the Renaissance program. However, as with all schools dealing with teenagers, there should be more programs or people skilled to deal with typical adolescent social problems. I reached out to guidance counselers and teachers more than once and was never really given help. Overall though ~a positive high school experience."
