"Teachers at this school respect students ideas and opinions. They are always willing to help students with any work they seem to be struggling with. Some teachers like group based activities because it builds communication skills amongst students. Teachers normally start the class off with warm ups, then class work, and a closing. Tests and quizzes are given. They are very consistent with their grades. The only classes that may take some time to enter grades in are AP classes. That's only because such a great quantity of students take those courses."

"Many teachers at High Point care about the students and their education. I only have one teacher that incorporates technology into his class, there is a large difference in the level of understanding in his class compared to my other classes. I personally understand the subject a lot better when technology is incorporated, and it is the same for many other students at my school."

"High Point is diverse but has mostly Hispanic students. Many students are involved in extracurricular activities especially sports. I personally have not had to deal with any peer pressure toward anything, but I know students who have dealt with peer pressure towards using drugs. But one of the big challenges in High Point is having to deal with a lot of the homophobes because a lot cruel comments that they say when speaking of some one that is homosexual."

"My topic for this question would be peer pressure. It's true that students at this school are very outgoing. The only thing I've noticed that somewhat is a bother to me, is how easily some students neglect their education, all just to fit it. If you see someone you feel is so "cool", you easily get influenced to do what that person does. That person could be skipping, not doing assignments or under the influence, and all of a sudden you want to be like them. That's what is a bother. Students wanna fit in so bad that they don't even focus on their education. I ouldn't say its the entire school that does this, it's just a small amount."

"When it comes to academics, High Point provides many diverse options. But one disappointing thing is that the AP classes that are offered aren't that diverse. For example, there aren't really any good AP classes for someone who may want to be an engineer, so they would have to be in the academy. Another challenge is that the chemistry and physics classes are very hard to understand because all the teachers do is give you book work and tests. There aren't really any lessons where students are truly interested."
