"I have issues with the administration at times, but overall I have been very happy with my experience at Sandy Spring Friends School. I came from a very small school, and while SSFS is not exceedingly large, it is certainly larger than my last school. In spite of this, I found that I almost immediately made friends, and within a few weeks had strong relationships with my teachers. There is no typical SSFS student, we're all kind of quirky, but in our own way. Because of this I have been able to spend my time with a variety of different people, from preppy kids to goth kids to bookish kids. Bullying has never been an issue for me personally, but when an issue arises the school takes it seriously and helps to resolve the issue immediately. There is no "kids just being kids" response. If the problem ends up being nothing, then the school will leave it there. I would strongly recommend SSFS."

"My overall experience with the teachers at Sandy Spring Friends School has been positive. The teachers are supportive and intelligent, with the add bonus of being available outside of class to work with struggling students. Many teachers are very friendly and open with the students, while others remain more distant, but all of my teachers have been valuable resources."

"The interview process for being a teacher at SSFS must be challenging. I believe the average teacher is culled when interviewed. Many who become teachers or staff stay at the school until they retire. This includes maintenance crew, office help, cooks, teachers and janitors. Once you come to SSFS, most stay and fit in. They bring their gifts and stay."

"What makes SSFS a top school is being Quaker, meaning that of God in everyone. There are two meeting for worship times weekly. All disputes are resolved using the Quaker method of group decision-making. I will have my children attend SSFS."

"These are still my best friends. We all are attending colleges. We don't expect to lose each other as close friends."
