"I would say Smithton is an above average school for a 2A school. Like Tyler pointed out, Smithton has a number of extracurricular activities in sports like Men's: Soccer, Basketball, Baseball, Golf, and Track and Women's: Volleyball, Basketball, Softball, and Track. They also have numerous clubs like Math Club (SMASH), FBLA (Businesses), Marching Band, Choir, Academic Team, FFA, FCCLA, STUCO, Stream's Team, and Speech when I went there and graduated in 2007. I wouldn't say the "school is for farmers" and " about only 15% of the students went on to college" is false. I graduated in the class of 2007 and 19/29 of the people I keep in contact with in this class has gone on to college and my class graduated 52. If you are looking for a football school, Smithton may not be for you, but the teachers and the students are on par or better than schools in the state of Missouri. "I think Smithton School is something for all of us to be proud of. My belief is that most schools aren't on first name basis with the students like ours is. The teachers are always dedicated to their students and I know anytime I might feel concerned about academics I will 'always' recieve possitive correspondance from whichever scholar is teaching that subject. Everyone always seems to be open minded and unbiassed with only the students betterment concerned both emotionally and academically. I know the problems a lot of other parents are having with larger schools and feel very thankful we have such great staff at ours. Not only the staff, but also the kids seem to have a lot more self esteem instilled into them. It's very comforting to know that values and pride are still in our community along with the caring of each person whether they are student or staff."

"Smithton's a JOKE! My kids will be enrolling at another school next year I would venture to say the LEARNED nothing this past year. There's NO staff support to help the students and they do NOT promote any extracurricular activities. This school is for farmers who don't want their kids to leave home! Only about 15% of the students go on to college. Smithton's going in the wrong direction!"

"Hello this is a very educated/sport school. The sports we have here include soccer, volleyball, boys & girls basketball, baseball, and softball. Last year the Lady Tigers were undefeated in basketball. Also Smithton is known well for soccer and basketball. All sports is also for JH slos."
