"Everyone at Basalt is extremely accepting and do a good job of encouraging underclassmen to participate in school sports, clubs, and events. We have a high amount of hispanics so there is a strong mix of diversity among the student body."

"Overall, the staff at Basalt High School is extremely welcoming and supportive of students. There is a handful of teachers that I admire because of their teaching techniques as well as interesting and engaging personalities. I have noticed that the teachers who teach my AP classes as well as my music teacher, grade very fair and a student can know exactly what to expect when it comes to their grades because what you put into these classes is what you get out of it. However teachers who have large classes with different learning habits tend to favor some students and grade slightly biased based on their convenience."

"My favorite classes have definitely been my AP courses because the teachers know what they are talking about and the subjects they offer are extremely interesting and interactive. They are absolutely challenging, some more than others but you know what to expect out of the class and can set up a system to manage your time wisely as far as study habits and work load goes."

"Basalt is a small town, and this is a small school which is a genuine blessing. The best part about it, is that everybody knows each other. Walking down the halls you will know at least 75% of the people there. There is a down to earth feeling when you walk into any basalt school because everyone is comfortable with each other and nobody wants to make someone feel bad or unwelcome. People do like to complain about this school because it is very small, we're underfunded, but despite some minor flaws we have so much success among the staff and the students here."

"All high schools have "the popular kids" but at Basalt the teachers and administration perpetuate this, going on to ignore offenses and dishonesty from select students. This creates an almost Toxic environment."
