"This is an ok school. It is safe as far as having unfamiliar people in the school but NOT SAFE as far as mainstreaming kids with behavioral issues into the classroom. If your child is in a classroom where one of these students is - be careful! These kids can hit, punch, swear and it all gets looked past without much issue! Very scary for the rest of the young minds in the classroom! The teachers are not willing to give kids who are ahead in areas extra work or more difficult work. They want everyone in the classroom to "be on the same page". Not very challenging for the kids who have comprehended the same lesson week after week! The 7 out of 10 is accurate from what I have seen!"

"Many parents rave about this school. I find it hit and miss with teachers, as you would with any public school. If a child is borderline special needs, they will choose to put them in the classroom and this is where the behavior issues come in. My child, for many years at this school, had children with social behavior issues mainstreamed in her class. This causes many classroom distractions. If your child is a self starter, enthusiastic about their education and can guide themselves through the education process, they will be fine. If your child has speech or social delays, you will be very pleased, as your child will have many out of room educational experiences. If your child is normal, they will easily fall through the cracks and could easily fall behind if you are not redoing all the days work at home every night."

"Our children have attended Andover for the past 5 years. We continue to be impressed by the commitment of the staff in helping our children learn in a fun way. There are so many great activities that get the kids excited about learning. Each February the entire school reads the same book for 'I Love to Read' month. This year it was Gooney Bird Greene. Our kids came home every night, eager to share the events of the day as they searched the building for a hidden Gooney Bird. They could hardly wait to dress like Gooney Bird and be a part of the all school read-a-thon at the end of the month. We were worried about our children attending such a large school. Those worries were unfounded. Andover Elementary is a top notch school!"

"Very disappointed. Was told what a great school. Curriculum is not what I expected thought it would be more structured in content, very vague. My child was not doing well and heard absolutely nothing from the teacher until the first conference two months after school started. Chose to remove child and sent to a private school within the district where student is excelling (5A's and 2 B's). It is a shame that the amount we pay at the private school is half of what the school district supposedly spends on each student but yet my student is getting a better education. Figure that one out school board!"

"Such an awesome school! I have one special needs child, one average child, and one gifted child-they have all thrived at Andover Elementary! We are blessed to have had such wonderful teacher over the years!"
