"The teachers at Rockville High School, for the most part, are knowledgeable, fair, helpful and accommodating to the students. There are, however, a few teachers that I encountered that probably should not have been teachers either because they were young and inexperienced or too old, should have retired years ago and just do not care anymore. While they stress the fact that they are there after school for extra help or make up tests, their schedules were not always conducive to the students' schedules. I think some of the problems that are encountered in today's middle and high schools, as well a the elementary schools is that the teachers are now forced to teach the curriculum by a certain standard that is not always a good fit for the ever changing lifestyles of families and children today."

"My experience at Rockville High School was not too bad. Although during my freshman and sophomore years I did not take school as seriously as I should have (being a young teenager) I did make up for it during my junior and senior years when I realized that I had to mature and start looking towards my future. I was active in both basketball and baseball throughout my high school years and I participated in quite a few extra-curricular activities and social functions that were put on by the school and the student body."

"My overall experience in this school so far is decent. I feel awkward 24/7 being the only African American person in my class but I get over it. I'm a nice and respectful person. I' feel welcome in class but it's still the awkwardness when the teacher talk about slaves, or segregation or etc. I feel like being rush lately. Certain teachers of mine don't take the time to let a new information process in our head. I understand we are mature young adults but I believe we should at least have some time to understand something. I don't have books in my classes except French. They say that the honors kids need them more than the college. Everything is off worksheets.I had a incident in the beginning of the year with my geometry class and I was failing when we first got our midterms of the year. My mom called my teacher and it took my mom to call them for me to get assign a book. I'm the only one in my class that got assign a book. Otherwise I like Rockville, Love my friends and some teacher. They just need to improve on their learning skills."

"The social scene at the school is average. It's not based on ethnic group, it's more based of your social group. The people you constantly hang out with and talk to during class. It's not that bad from in my eyes. You just have different type of group of people in a typical high school. Diversity is very difficult for me personally, but I been in Vernon for a couple of years so I use to it."

"They are very respectful and always teaching us different things. I learn so quickly in class by their methods of teaching. Some teacher engages a lot in students life. They really care about how students feel about a certain topic or anything that's outside of school. They'll constantly break it down to the students until the teacher feels like they got it. Grading is a little slow, students understand that there not the only ones the teacher have to grade but the long period of waiting is ridiculous. Communication is a little off. Some teacher don't really ask certain students if they have any question. They just assume they understand it and barely have time to stay after for the students to at least ask a question they had."
