"Every other week in the school year, student's spend their time in this thing called shop which basically is a career path you want or a preferred career you want. You're taught the basic skills and them some in the trade you choose. I think that was my favorite part of attending Putnam. If I had to do it again I'd obviously still choose this school because it was a really fun experience."

"At this highschool, it's a hit or miss with teachers. Most teachers really care about whether their students do well and a small percentage are just indifferent. Luckily I had teachers that were very engaged and loved their jobs enough to care a help put students when they really needed it. They were available after school if you needed it and had a good solid grading system."

"Teachers at my school aren't the best but they aren't the worst either. There are some that will go above and beyond for you and will try to help as much possible but there are also teachers that would rather you just stay quiet and and act like you know what to do so they can fail you. The teachers that I've had were not all bad but I've had my fair share of teachers that would rather not be bothered with students and they'd rather just get paid and keep it moving."

"When I started at Putnam I chose motor vehicle repair. Shortly after I realized this wasn't the career path for me. The next year I transferred into the nursing program. It was challenging, because I was a year behind my classmates. I worked really hard and with the help of my teachers I was able to catch up quickly. I think Putnam is a great school for technical students who want to have a skill when they graduate as well as students who want to pursue their education further. I am planning on attending college in the fall and am very thankful for the education and experience I received at Putnam."

"The teachers here at Putnam Vocational Technical Academy are one in a million. They are really engaging with the students who want to learn as well as the students who have difficulty in class. The students can rely and talk to some of our teachers without fear of being criticized; They can really feel like family sometimes to the kids, including myself, who sometimes need a little push to get them going down the road to success. The teachers at Putnam Vocational Technical Academy are really great."
