"I would choose this school again, because Renaissance cares about its students as people and humans not just students, but it is not perfect."

"The academics are very limited between english, a science, a math, a social studies etc. Although the AP classes are incredibly rigorous, and so are honors classes. CP classes on the other hand are very easy, so there is a range depending on the students choice of rigor. You have no choice in scheduling (unless you are from another school, and have already taken a class, in which case you have a little choice). The choice to be academically challenged is placed upon the student. There are good teachers and bad teachers. Teaching at an inner city school, or at renaissance is very difficult. Teachers are at school very early, and leave very late. Majority are always willing to stay after and help you, and all have designated office hours. Some teachers are too weak to work here, some quit before the first semester! but the one's that last are amazing."

"One aspect of any inner city school, but particularly Renaissance that needs to be taken into account is the turn over rate of teachers. Working at any inner city school is incredibly difficult, then factor in Renaissance's incredibly high expectations and criteria for it's teachers to meet working at Renaissance is not for everyone. Many teachers leave within 1-3 years. Although this adds a difficulty for the school, the teachers who stay are amazing. They stay after to help students, provide necessary support, and have high expectations for their students. Graduating high school is baseline, college (or any formal plan/ organization after college) is expected these expectations create a higher sense of self-worth and community culture."

"The teachers are great reliable resources. They are really helpful and at times, refuse to move on if there are a students that struggle learning the material being taught. They leave no one behind and are very dedicated to us."
