"My son will be starting his final year at Haines and has truly enjoyed everything thus far from the teachers, to the students and the coaching staff for his various activities. Haines is a great school who cares about the student."

"I am currently a student at HMS. I'm in the advanced Language Arts program and find it challenging but fun at the same time. There has been one teacher in particular that we have had problems with, but I don't think that should affect the overall rating of Haines. He is a Math teacher that lacks communication skill and just doesn't seem like he likes his job. I'm sure that he won't be at the school much longer. I'm very pleased with the Student Support staff as they have been very helpful to many students including myself. Mrs. Gehrig has been exceedingly helpful to go out of her way to solve any problems we might have. My favorite teacher is Mrs. Crowe on team 7-1. She obviously loves her job and does is very good at explaining new concepts to all of her students. Overall, Haines is a wonderful school!"

"We are very happy with the extracurricular clubs, sports and professional attitude and friendly culture of Haines. My true concern is with the gifted program and particularly math."

"Slow moving in updating curriculum. Lacks commitment to communicate to parents. Some tenured teachers allowed to slide with out accountability. Slow moving in providing services to students that need gifted academics, LD support and BD support."

"I am currently a 7th grade student at Haines, and if I do say so myself, that the school is great. They have wonderful AT (Advanced) classes, and the teachers are very understanding, and if not to add too much, they are one of the nation's blue ribbon schools!"
