"Most of the teachers i have had were really great!"

"I had twenty-four different teachers at Mountain View, they're all across the board. Some were very accomodating and wanted to help, others were incredibly overwhelmed and couldn't manage much. I'd say I had five really good teachers and six truly awful ones. I had one that said that she just didn't care about certain kids because they didn't care and they should just drop out now and work in a garage. I had three that made various inappropriate, lewd, and horrible remarks consistently in class because they felt it was the only way to keep their students' attention."

"The school is a hierarchy. If you take the IB classes you get the notion shoved down your throat that you're better than the rest of the school, even if you're just barely passing the classes. The teachers feed this as well, they are young, arrogant, and waste a lot of time talking about their social lives (which we don't care about). On top of that, they give you a lot of mindless busy work, not actually challenging homework, but busywork that does not adequately prepare you for the exams."

"Mountain View ruined me. I had a few teachers who were making inappropriate comments in class, always diverting topics in the class toom to sex or shock value, and these were IB/AP teachers. When I attempted to report them to the principal, he didn't believe me and very poorly confronted the teachers so that they knew it was me that complained. The teachers, being young and inappropriate, then openly told the class that someone had ratted them out, so the class in turn went on a witchhunt to find out who it was. When it was found out it was me, the students then treated me poorly. It was terrible. In addition, my position on my track team was not respected, even when I was consistently placing and even broke the school record. The coach did not care whatsoever, refused to let us use the good equipment, and only ever cared about the distance runners. My parents and I were baffled that, after all these problems we'd had with the school, why there were not more upset parents and why the school was continually advertised as "good". It was because the parents had no idea. There weren't massive drug busts or gang fights, so they turned a blind eye to the numerous, accumulating problems with the school's administration. The principal hired only young, pretty, and incompetent teachers, allowed them to bully the students, and did nothing to improve the school. It was only viewed as "good" because it was new."
