"Stonebridge has been a great school for my kids. I like the mulit-age learning environment and the fact that kids keep the same teacher for 2 years. This means the kids get to really know their teacher. The "open" nature of the school fosters independence and good leadership. The parents are very involved and fund an art teacher. The orchestra and band program is excellent."

"Behavior at this school is OUT OF CONTROL, with no support from the principal to correct it, especially with the oldest students. Some of the favorite staff are allowed to show up after the school day has started. Paras have more teaching responsibilities than the actual classroom teachers. I wouldn't choose to send my own children to this school."

"The principal at Stonebridge is an extremely poor leader. We brought a few concerns to her attention over the years, and she usually did not even bother to call us back or answer our e-mails (after multiple attempts), let alone deal with the issues and make improvements. When she is in the building, she rarely comes out of her office to interact with students and parents (unlike the principals at other District 834 schools our kids now attend). The kids noticed and commented on this, as did several other parents. She is a key reason why we and others left Stonebridge, and it was the best decision we ever made. There are MUCH better schools and principals in the district. A note to Kindergarten parents: within a few years you will be disillusioned. There are some good teachers at Stonebridge, but there are some "nightmare" ones also."

"I am a physician who lives in Wisconsin and practices in Stillwater. My husband and I researched all of the Stillwater public schools and selected Stonebridge for its unique learning style that allows every child to advance at their own pace. Our son knew how to read long before kindergarten and his teacher has designed a curriculum just for him. I think that this is important especially in today's culture of "no child left behind" that often encourages teachers to teach to the level of the child that knows the least. Stonebridge has ensured that all children will be challenged at their own pace. The teachers are warm and responsive to parents' concerns and address them promptly. We believe in this school so much we pay out of state tuition for our son to attend."

"I couldn't be happier with Stonebridge for my children. It is a non-traditional setting, which I was concerned about before starting, but since it is our home school, I decided to give it a try, and I love it! The teachers are fantastic (I was talking with another parent today about nightmare teachers that each of us had - there are no teachers like that at Stonebridge), and unlike that other review, the principal has strong leadership skills and is constantly trying to make the school a better place. It has been good for my girls because they can always move ahead if they enjoy a subject. I cannot say enough good about the school."
