"Sandy Hook is an excellent school. My daughter has attended K & 1st. I am amazed at how much my daughter has learned, she is reading better now in first grade than I read at 5th or 6th grade. The parent involvement is great as well. I am involved in the Watch Dog program at the school & you can definetly feel the apprecation from the students as well as the teachers. I would highly recommend this school."

"Sandy Hook has a lot of parent volunteers, but it lacks the real basics, such as textbooks. I could not believe my 4th grader had no textbooks -- just photocopied worksheets and old standardized tests. The teacher quality also drops sharply after the younger grades (K-2 or 3). Probably because they know they are just teaching to the test anyway which is not their doing, but it is the reality."

"Sandy Hook is an excellent school with an excellent principal, vice principal's, teacher's, and staff. The parent involvement is excellent and there is never a shortage of parent volunteers. The kids love it there. They are always pushing my child to do better and realize that all the children in one class are not on the same reading level, etc. They really individualize their homework with that in mind."
