"Tavares High school is a welcoming environment, its kept clean and on an average scale kids are very well disciplined."

"I am currently in between my junior and senior year at Tavares High School. This school has lead to to success in many of my classes, the teachers do seem to care with the exception of a few. I am heavily involved in extracurriculars and i would like to see the school's enthusiasm, for those other than football, rise and create a more freindly and equal feel when it comes to different extracurriculars."

"The school is under funded which is evidenced with offering of AP classes and other resources (classrooms / buildings). Communication efforts with parents is not at level that should be (especially with the many FREE resources available - i.e. social media, email, texting, etc.). Celebrations for non-athletic achievements is pretty much non-existent (and, unfortunately, the athletic leadership is not very good either)."

"What I like about Tavares High School is the school spirit and the amount of support the students and administration have for the athletic department and the various clubs and programs. The sports, clubs, and fine arts programs eliminates the problems of discrimination and isolation of some students and also closes the gap between the students and faculty. When I attend Tavares I felt like I had closer relationships to the administration and teacher than i would have at any other school."

"There's not a lot in the way of physical sciences. The band program is astounding and won the Otto J. Kraushaar award, which is a really big deal. The choir/musical theater teacher has changed every year since I arrived there, but the program has been going to EPCOT's Candlelight Processional for two years now. Academic teachers are either really great or really not. I have heard many great and also terrible things about people's academic experiences. The only problem with clubs is that it's pretty common for meeting times to overlap. The Astronomy club is pretty awesome, though. Oh, and the auditorium is falling apart but can't be renovated because of it's "historical significance.""
