"The school has provided my child with special needs with an excellent support system. the teachers and principal are caring and professional. The PTA can be annoying and the kids can be bratty. My other 2 kids who do not have special needs were also taken care of very well also."

"My son is a kindergartener at Berry Hill and I have been extremely impressed with his academic experience. The teachers really have done a great job of keeping him interested and using different educational methods. The language program is incredible in that the kindergarten classes are being taught Russian. I could not be more impressed with the school."

"I have 3 kid's who are currently in the Syosset School system. Yes, I do agree that there is way too much pressure on the kid's to take tests and there is way too much work for them to complete at home because there isn't enough time for them to finish it at school. The toughest thing about this district is being a kid that isn't into the 'designer' crowd. If you can keep your kids grounded, then they will do better. I really never had any horrible teachers for my oldest who went there. My 2 younger kid's are also doing OK teacher wise. I think that the PTA has too much to say about things. It is a very hard area to grow up in that is for sure! It also isn't very diversified. Too many parents don't see their kid's shortcomings."

"I wish I could shake the hand of the parent who said he/she 'would be moving.' I am totally disgusted with this district. This system is highly overrated. I have 2 children who attended Robbins Lane. They were programmed to be excellent test takers while learning nothing! They are currently in middle school (HBT) a slight improvement over the elementary level, but not enough to keep my family from moving also. In all my children's years in the system, I can truly say we have had 3 teachers who were exceptional, although they themselves were mistreated by administration and fellow educators. I have a 3rd child who will not be attending Syosset schools."
