"I came to this school for Creative Writing, and my experience with the events in that field has been beyond what I could have imagined. Ms. Curry is an amazing writing director, and every year, with her careful guidance, the juniors and seniors plan amazing readings that are open to the public, as well as the literary journal, Synapse. Working on Synapse has been one of the experiences of my (thus far, very short) life!"

"Blake high school is a performing arts school that is filled with students who are very talented. The students along with the focus that the administration puts into the art programs is what I think makes this school such a fun, exciting, learning environment it is now. The people (students, teachers, staff) are what makes Blake high Blake high. They're the reason waking up early to go to school isn't hard."

"The environment is pretty good. Everyone for the most part is nice and welcoming. The performing arts students bring a brightness to the school because it is incorporated around school building and in pep rallies. It is a school where I feel free to express my true talent and I don't think I would be able to do that at any other school besides here, at Blake High School."

"I attend a performing arts school, and few of the teachers know how to appeal to a population of that breed of interests; the Math and Science departments, in particular, come off as condescending and unmotivating to students whose interests lie outside of STEM and in more creative fields, such as Theatre or Creative Writing. In a way, it has a looping affect: they talk down to us, we disregard their homework in favor of applying our interests in other fields."

"There are only a select view that put in the time and dedication for student success. A lot of them gibe up on the students not realizing that school is the only real place they can get help especially because of my school's location."
