"Im a student at Hoover and overall its ok. There are lots of problems with it too. Like the dress code. It is way too strict. If we have even the tiniest of holes in our jeans we have to call home to get a parent to bring us a new pair. If we dont have a parent at home then we stay in the computer lab all day and do our work there, only if they dont have a pair of pants your size. And then there are the Teachers. They do not discipline properly. I sit in my sixth hour class and get nothing done because everyone is doing something other then the assignment. I cant hear over them, so that means I cant hear the teacher giving directions, and this is only one class. And then lastly there are the students. Most of them goof off. They bully other students, and once again, dont get disciplined. It makes me mad that the good students drown because the bad ones grab on and dont let go. But I do have to admit the school has a few good things to make up for it. Im in chorus and its really fun! I loved going to competition and performing for my school and my parents. It also has lots of activitys to do. Im in the 8th grade and I will not be here next year. Its my M.S. and I`ll miss it :(."

"We have had NOTHING but problems since moving into Taylor. Most of the teachers here are more concerned with dress codes and kids tattling on one another then anthing else. I had to bring a pair of jeans to my kid at 1pm (even tho school started at 7:30am) because the principle would not allow her to return to class due to a small rip in her jeans. to which she had leggings underneath. What a joke this place is."

"I went to Hoover when I was in Middle school. It has changed so much. Over all I do no like the way the school is now. I have a son who attends the school now. If your child is not in the music program I feel they are over looked. Teacher are very hard to get a hold of and you never get good reports. Only the bad ones. Makes kids feel bad when they always point out the bad and never focus on the good the children do. Also I feel that Mrs. Winnie needs to focus more on making the kids feel safe in school and not focus so much on the music program. My son does not feel safe at his school. The fighting is OUT OF CONTROL. But every time I call to talk to her she is always out or busy with he Band or music program."

"I think Hoover is a very good Jr. HS but I don't like the fact that the Teachers don't talk to the parents much if at all and it is hard to reach a Teacher. They each need to have their own e-mail then you can reach them better or a voice message box. I like Mrs. Winnie because she is very much involved with kids, she cares and takes action when kids are bullying or picking on other kids.I would recomend this school to any parent to send their child here. * Parent *"
