"This school does have its flaws but slowly and surely does it continuously become better as they are committed (as any other school) to better prepare its students for their future."

"I had many great teachers however I wish the classes could be more challenging. There are many delinquents at the school and I believe they were not disciplined enough."

"Long Island City High School to me was the best for my career choice. I want to become a chef. Freshman year is an introductory class for two aspects of culinary field which includes hospitality and culinary arts/baking and pastry. Dealing with the Culinary Arts class I got to network with Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP) which gives public school kids the chance and opportunity to do much greater things than they thought possible. CCAP donates high quality products to schools in struggling neighborhoods that have a culinary class. With CCAP I was able to intern at a law group and do corporate dining. Which I had a lot of fun doing. Our school is not just focused on culinary arts even though it is really great. Our school offers JROTC, an abundance of sport teams ( we have the most by the way), automechanic class, woodshop class, theater and lots of music classes for every instrument. Our school is very diverse and there's a place for everyone to belong."

"I like Long Island City High School because it is a good school to better your opportunities , and it is a lot of diversity, the teachers are good also. I like the fact that they try to help every student who is having a problem with such a big classroom . They try to do their best to get the students ready for college."
