"This school does not have a lot of after school activities. The children are sometimes out of control. They have good teachers. However their needs to be an improvement in security."

"this school is complete trash my daughter was a honor roll student in entering maxwell and dropped down to a c student im not saying its not her fault but she lost hope. most of the students were constantly sayindg oh i only failed 3 classes like this is normal the teachers are ghetto and need to go back to school themselves maxwell is a horrible school and the teachers try to hold back the students. thus school not only needs reprimand but needs to be closed. I am sorry that me and my child moved up from nj we didnt know anything about the school systems someone recommended this school and when we went for the interview the principal said your daughter has impeccable grades but we cant accept her. she than changed her mind and said our school is a very respectable and prestigious school."

"I visited this school to enroll my kids here and I chose not to. It is located in East NY and is very dangerous. There are security guards at every entrance and the guards themselves look like ex-cons. However, the teachers were down to earth...actually, only the humanities dept. teachers seemed to really be experts in their areas."

"I was a former student and currently have 2 children attending this school. It is a good school. The only problem I have, is that the 9th graders get out at 4:45. I wish they would begin earlier and dimissed earlier. I feel that it is dangerous for these kids to be traveling so late especially when it gets dark early."
