"This is an excellent school with a fantastic principal and caring teachers. (Most are great!) Don't be misled by some of the complainers. Some of us are guilty of not keeping track of our kids' progress and just get upset when their grades are disappointing. We have 24/7 access to grades if we request a code from the Technology Department. By the way, the PTA seems very active, and Collier sponsors many interesting programs like Specials Night and "Battle of the Books." Kudos to the entire staff and especially the "Teacher of the Year, 2012" who leads the "Battle of the Books" Program!"

"I believe in standing behind our teachers they truly have a hard job. I have two children that attend Collier Elementary school one does exceptional well and one does not and my concern lies with how the school handles the children that don't doing so well instead of giving them proper help and meeting their needs they get branded and made to feel worse. I find that Since my son started going to Collier Elementary his academic progress has significantly declined. My son feels bullied at this school by Staff of all things and nothing is being done about it. When I address this with staff all I get is the run around and words that amount to they don't care, he is just data a body to keep what little funds they can get. I'm upset that my son seems to be falling through the cracks at this school and Whats more upsetting is that administration there condones it. I'm sad that I can't put him in a different School because of school boundaries very frustrating and fear of being prosecuted for doing so ."

"If you want your kids to attend a safe and friendly school that allows your child to flourish, this is not the school. Some of the teachers and aides are very aggresive and use bully tactics . They are more worried about uniforms being tucked in and disciplining than they are in educating. If your child gets a step 4, they will sit in a "buddy rom" facing the wall, doing nothing all day! They are not allowed to make up the work, so they receive Fs for missing assignments. Oh and any faculty in the school can give your child a step 4 from step 1 in a matter of seconds, just for them asking why the are being put on step. If they look any were other than the wall they are escalated to the next step, if they look like they have an attitude because they feel they are being treated unfair, they have been escalated to a step 3 and then if your child reminds the faculty that they left them on step to long (only suppose to be 3-5 mins) by saying "Hello" they are now at a step 4. The school will deny your child to contact you if they need you. I could go on and on. You have been warned!"

"My son has been here since the start. Once your child makes only one mistake they put a tag on them. He was suspended from school his 8th grade year, which he had never had any type of disciplinary issues the whole time he had been there, 2 weeks before the summer time. We were told for something that had been happening all year and we are just now hearing about this, poor communication. The 8th graders were treated like they were in jail, not allowed to wear jackets or bring a backpack. Not a very good way for my son to spend his last year as an 8th grader."
