"The high school staff encourages drama and bullying. The staff tends to look the other way as your child gets picked on. If you appeal any disciplinary decision from your child s self defense then they will humor you at the meeting and cause more anxiety to your child by making him feel ashamed. If your child is not aggressive or a have personality type A, then you should expect your child to suffer bouts of anxiety and depression by his/her senior year. My child used to eat lunch in the restroom stall to escape the verbal abuse"

"I am currently a sophomore in Jenks and have been going here since Pre-K. The school focuses and appreciates only students with a lot of money, talent, and straight A's. The standards for students are nearly impossible, everything is expected to be perfect and there is no leniency for anyone who does not meet the standards. Instead of investing their money in the classroom and students, they spend all their money on extracurricular activities and sports. The school is highly evasive with both parents and students life's, and are rare to give anyone a break. It is extremely easy to feel left out, because Jenks is one of the worst schools you will ever find when it comes to cliques. The classes are usually never entirely free, sometimes far from it. Vocal is $100 per semester, with a $100 dress and $100 t-shirt. Teachers are very careless and insensitive to students needs, if you have to go to the nurse, forget it. Bathroom, forget it. Everything comes with a catch, and faculty members worry way too much about small things such as cell phones and dress code. I got 4 hour long detentions for not being able to afford a temporary id. I wouldn't recommend Jenks for the average teenager."

"I LOVE Jenks! Jenks PS is my first experience with a public school and they are not perfect but overall they have the most fantastic academic program, athletics, and opportunities for kids to join clubs and other activities. To say you MUST have money to go there is untrue. Our family doesn't and we have never felt less worthy to be there. They have many programs to assist families who want to be involved. For those complainers: go make a positive difference by volunteering there. Help them help your kids."

"Jenks is an awesome school attend. I am currently a sophomore and will have to say that Jenks is only for the kid who wants to be challenged by a tough curriculum. This year (2011-2012) Jenks is opening it's new Math and Science Center which is one of only three in the nation. This new facility consists of a state-of-the-art observatory and a planetarium. This building haw three stories. Two of which have classrooms in them. Jenks has also just finished its new Auquatics Center. We are among the top 1% of schools in Oklahoma. Jenks does focus a lot on football, but provides all students with equal opportunities. We are also one of five schools in the nation to achieve the Presidential Academic Award. There are cliques and you do need affluent parents to make it here. I came from a private school that will remain anonymous in which I felt I wasn't being provided a quality education. At Jenks, football and extracurricular activities are a must. Jenks serves 31 square miles of students and has a graduation rate of 96%. Based on all of the above info you know you love Jenks. Go to www.jenksps.org and check us and ourndistrict out A Tradition of Excellence with a Vision for Tomorrow."
